Our Kimono Sweater has side slits and some accent ribbing along the bottom and the cuffs. With its eye-catching wide cuffs and dropped shoulders, the sweater is best paired with jeans or suit trousers.
For this sweater, we used ultrafine merino wool shorn from Australian fine-fleece sheep. Snowy-white prior to dyeing, this naturally shiny super soft and fine wool is seen as a paragon of quality. Ultrafine merino yarn is highly robust and elastic, an excellent body temperature regulator, does not irritate skin and produces durable and comfortable garments.
We procure yarn for this sweater from a family-run factory located in Montemurlo, Tuscany. The factory runs on solar power to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and mitigate environmental impact. The yarn is supplied on recycled paper cones and in cardboard boxes made locally in Italy.
Only dyes and chemical agents meeting advanced environmental and human health standards get selected for use in the production process. For instance, yarn used for Kimono Sweaters was not exposed to silicone softeners, which artificially soften the fibres and but reduce the longevity of the item. The sweater will be even fluffier and softer after the first wash in normal home conditions.
